Updates!!!!

11 days into EURO 2016, I have finally managed to find some time to update everyone's picks --  which means, we have standings!  There are actually several updates.

New items in the menu above:

Standings:  Up until the end of the 2nd matches, every match was worth one point.  As the 3rd matches are played, you will get the one point per correct match PLUS the winner and runner-up of that group (3 points each).  So, today, Groups A and B have finished so 11 entries have all 4 Round of 16 teams (FRA, SUI, WAL, ENG).  Remember, it doesn't matter if you had WAL as the winner, runner-up, or 3rd place qualifier -- it's 3 points regardless.  However, not placing WAL in the correct slot may hinder getting the maximum possible points.  Currently, JBueno leads with 28 points with Mejia12 in second with 26 points.  TurboTobi is in last with 17 points and was the only entry
to only get 2 of the 4 Round of 16 teams correct.  You will not get credit for the 3rd place qualifier(s) until after the last group match is played (so if after tomorrow, ALB has enough to get 1 of the 4 third-place spots, you still won't get the points until after the last group match is played).  So on Wednesday, a total of 28 points will be awarded (1 each for the 4 matches, 3 each for Group E and F winners and runner-ups, and 3 each for the four 3rd place qualifiers).  Technically, after that we would know which entries will be eliminated from the top 4 spots.  No bonus this year.

Distribution:  Here, you can see how many entries picked each group stage match and how many entries picked which teams to make the Round of 16, make the Quarters, etc.  We have officially 27 entries and 9 each picked FRA or GER to win it all.  In fact, everyone picked those two teams to at least make the Quarterfinals.  Just 7 of the 24 teams were picked to win it all (Spain and Belgium 3 each, Portugal, England, and Russia one each).  Despite all the new teams making the Euros, at least 3 entries picked every team to make the Round of 16.  Just 3 of the 36 matches were unanimously picked (FRA>ALB, GER>UKR, and BEL>IRL).

Everyone's Picks:  Here, you can find out who is who as well as see everyone's picks.

I hope to start paying more attention starting with the USA-ARG match!

Edit: Similarly, you won't get points for ITA (who qualified for the Round of 16 already) until after its Group E matches are finished on Wednesday.
